Day 1
Your adventure begins with a warm meet and greet at Maun International Airport, where our friendly staff will assist you with your luggage. After a brief stop in Maun, the journey to Grasslands Safari Lodge commences. Along the way, enjoy insightful commentary about daily life in Maun and rural Africa—a captivating journey through miles of untamed wilderness, occasionally punctuated by quaint villages. The scenic drive takes approximately 5 hours, offering ample time to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of the surroundings. Upon arrival at Grasslands Lodge, you’ll be greeted by your hosts, Tiaan and Neeltjie, whose humble demeanor, infectious smiles, and genuine hospitality will leave a lasting impression.
Settle into your cozy accommodation, where you can unwind and soak in the serene ambiance. Relax by the waterhole, taking in the sights and sounds of the African bush, or take a refreshing dip in the pool. Day 2 & 3
The next two full days are dedicated to delving deep into the world of the Bushmen (San). Embark on bushwalks, discovering the secrets of the land and learning about indigenous plants and their medicinal uses. Follow expert trackers as they lead you through the wilderness, sharing their ancient wisdom on survival skills and traditional hunting techniques. Immerse yourself in village life, engaging with locals and participating in cultural activities. From traditional games to water sourcing and cooking demonstrations, each experience offers a unique glimpse into the rich heritage of the Bushmen. Between activities, enjoy exhilarating game drives, encountering a diverse array of wildlife, including the majestic Gemsbok, graceful springboks, and the thrill of tracking the elusive white Rhino.
Day 4
As your unforgettable journey at Grasslands Safari Lodge draws to a close, cherish the memories created in this extraordinary place. Bid a fond farewell to the tranquil surroundings and hospitable hosts, Tiaan and Neeltjie. Depart from Grasslands Safari Lodge via a charter flight to Maun, reflecting on the profound experiences and connections made during your stay.
