All our rooms feature:
Day 1: Afternoon
Your guide will meet you at reception for the afternoon activity, providing an authentic and immersive glimpse into life on the fringes of the Okavango Delta. This experience features culture, stunning scenery, Mokoro rides, and encounters with wildlife, from small birds to mighty elephants. Your experience will be led by professional guides who will provide insights into daily life in this unique region.
This is a private and exclusive experience, avoiding commercial Mokoro tours for a more authentic adventure. As you pass vendors, small villages, and outposts, each with its own story, you’ll eventually arrive at the edge of a large lagoon on the outskirts of the Okavango Delta.
Here, you can enjoy a short walk along the lagoon’s edges while gaining an understanding of the uniqueness of this ecosystem. Then, board a Mokoro for a gentle glide on the waters.
At a scenic spot under the shade of a large fig tree, savor sundowners as the sun sets over the African skies, perhaps even with a view of elephants in the lagoon! The sundowners include tasty treats, soft drinks, beer, wine, and gin & tonic.
As the last rays of the sun filter through the trees, you will depart for Crocodile Camp. After freshening up, enjoy an early dinner.
Day 2
Depart early from Croc Camp for a full day in the Moremi Game Reserve.
Tour Information – Highlights
Experience the captivating highlights of the Moremi Game Reserve guided by experts and delight in enchanting wildlife sightings. Enjoy a picnic breakfast and picnic lunch within the stunning surroundings of Moremi before your return. Often hailed as the most beautiful of all wildlife sanctuaries in Africa, the Moremi Game Reserve blankets almost a third of the entire Okavango Delta.
This safari is conducted in customized safari vehicles equipped with rear-mounted game viewing seats beneath a protective canvas canopy. You will be accompanied throughout by knowledgeable and experienced guides.
The Safari package includes all park fees, a dedicated guide, game viewing opportunities, picnic breakfast and picnic lunch, as well as still water.
The wildlife highlights may vary from day to day and may include sightings of leopard, lion, wild dog, hyena, kudu, waterbuck, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lechwe, elephant, buffalo, and impala, among others. The birdlife in the area is equally remarkable, with species such as the secretary bird, hornbill, lapwing, vulture, African jacana, African fish eagle, hamerkop, kori bastard, lilac-breasted roller, and crested crane, among many others.
About the Safari:
Located 100 kilometers from Maun is the South Gate of the Moremi Game Reserve. The journey is divided into three sections: from Croc Camp to Shorobe along a tar road, the second part is from Shorobe to the Buffalo fence, which can be bumpy at times. Once at the Buffalo fence, serious wildlife viewing opportunities abound, encompassing all the wildlife found in the Greater Okavango/Moremi region. The last leg of the journey takes us to South Gate.
Upon arrival at South Gate, we take a restroom break while our guide completes the necessary formalities at the park entrance. After a short drive, we reach a spacious open pan – an ideal spot for a proper bush breakfast picnic. Our breakfast picnic includes yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, coffee/tea with rusks, and more – a true feast.
Following breakfast, we embark on further adventures, exploring the Xini Pans area for the remainder of the day. This region is a quintessential representation of the Moremi Game Reserve. You’ll explore diverse habitats, including floodplains, pans, lagoons, channels, woodlands, and forests, each offering unparalleled excitement and adventure.
A picnic lunch is served in the heart of the African wilderness, beneath the shade of a large tree – another delicious meal. During lunch, we take a leisurely pace, allowing guests to stretch their legs and relish their surroundings. Bottled water and soft drinks are provided with lunch, from a cooler box stocked with ice for any additional drinks you may wish to bring.
After lunch, we begin the slow return journey to Maun. It’s time once again to freshen up, enjoy a drink or two at the Croc Rock Bar, and then savor a delicious dinner.
Day 3
Enjoy some leisure time and breakfast before being transferred to Maun Airport.
