A full day boat trip into the Okavango Delta with a walk on an island and picnic lunch.
The Okavango Delta is a complex and delicate ecosystem which traps the overflow of the Okavango River whose source is in the Angolan highlands. The river contains meandering papyrus fringed channels, tranquil lagoons and palm studded islands which make up this unique inland delta covering approximately 15 000 sq. kms.
A variety of game may be spotted in this pristine wilderness area, including elephant, hippo, crocodile, giraffe, kudu, impala and zebra – to name a few.
07:00 am pick up from your hotel. Arrive at the boat station and board the boat with your captain and guide. Cruise the interior waterways looking for wildlife and casually discussing with your guide any questions you have about the Delta and the wildlife you find. Once you reach the island you will embark on a one-hour game walk to view the wildlife on foot and explore this unique environment. At the conclusion of the game walk you arrive at the picnic lunch location where a table and chairs is set up in a serene spot for you to enjoy your meal.
In the afternoon, board the boat for more cruising time where you can look for specific species of wildlife or locations of interest before your transfer back to Maun, arriving for drop off at your hotel at 06:30 pm.
