Chobe National Park
Located within the abundant wildlife-rich expanse of the Kasane Forest area, a tranquil haven away from bustling crowds, Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge nestles in an exquisite setting along the fringes of the Zambezi National Park. The lodge’s entire vista gazes out over an exceedingly active waterhole, the sole permanent water source spanning miles around. The guest area is flanked by two double-story accommodation blocks, each offering en-suite accommodations adorned with balconies that overlook the waterhole. Here, a realm of tranquility beckons, allowing you to recline and observe a myriad of wildlife coming to you.
The guest area encompasses a welcoming reception, an alluring curio shop, and convenient guest bathrooms, all guiding you to the elegant dining area, a well-stocked bar, and the inviting pool deck adorned with sun loungers. Adjacent is our inviting boma area, a space where you can relish moments while gazing out over the waterhole. Upstairs, an additional bar, comfortable seating, and a TV lounge await.
The Waterhole at the guest area:
The waterhole stands as a captivating focal point, drawing an array of wildlife throughout the year, ranging from a humble field mouse to a majestic elephant. It’s a place where the African wilderness comes alive, showcasing a diverse cast that includes African wild dogs, buffalo, lions, leopards, Roan antelope, and much more. The remarkable proximity of these creatures to the waterhole adds a unique dimension to the experience.
Particularly during the months spanning June to November, the wildlife activity appears to intensify, as if seeking to surpass its own limits. During this period, a notable highlight is the afternoon congregation of large elephant herds, making their way to the water’s edge for a refreshing drink.
Camping:
At Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge we cater for self-drives, with nine isolated luxury camping sites with individual private campgrounds each on a raised deck under the shade of Mopani trees with a private verandah overlooking the surrounding bush. Seating on the platform high off the ground and each with its own open air hot/cold shower),toilet, basin, fireplace, kitchen wash-up facility and all are connected with power where one can charge cameras or phones.
9 camping units with private deck view, each campsite has its own 2 toilets, open star gazing shower with hot/cold water, kitchen wash-up facility ,laundry wash basin, braai stand, electricity point and free Wi-Fi by the main area.
