Day 1: Arrival at Crocodile Camp

Your journey commences with your arrival at Maun International Airport, where you will be transferred to Crocodile Camp. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax by the pool, indulge in a spa treatment, or enjoy a drink at the Croc Rock Bar. Unwind in the comfort of an air-conditioned room at Crocodile Camp, complete with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2: Mokoro Trip into the Okavango Delta

Embark on an early morning departure from Croc Camp at 7 am for a half-day Mokoro trip into the Okavango Delta. Operated by the Okavango Mokoro Community Trust (OKMCT), this experience supports conservation efforts. Glide through the intricate ecosystem of the delta, explore its meandering channels, lagoons, and palm-studded islands aboard a traditional Mokoro. Witness the wildlife, including elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and more.

After the Mokoro adventure, a 4×4 camping van will be provided at Crocodile Camp. Receive a detailed orientation before driving to Crocodile Camp Campsite for a luxurious camping experience. Spend the night at Crocodile Camp Campground, familiarising yourself with camping gear under the assistance of camp lights.

Day 3: Depart to Khumaga Campsite in Makgadikgadi National Park

Bid farewell to Maun as you depart for Khumaga Campsite in the Makgadikgadi National Park along the Boteti River. The drive takes 2-3 hours, and at Khumaga Campsite, witness the stunning migration of zebras, wildebeests, and elephants. Explore the vast landscapes and enjoy the unique contrasts of the Makgadikgadi Pans. The campground at Khumaga offers 10 generously spaced campsites with essential amenities, including ablution blocks.

Day 4: Explore Makgadikgadi National Park

Dedicate this day to exploring the wonders of the Makgadikgadi National Park. Immerse yourself in the diverse landscapes, observing the world’s second-largest zebra migration and the abundance of wildlife that thrives in this region. Experience the unique ecosystem where salt pans, grasslands, and riverine woodlands converge.

Day 5: Depart to Khwai Campground in Moremi Game Reserve

Embark on an early morning departure from Khumaga to Khwai Campground in the Moremi Game Reserve. The journey takes you through Maun for restocking, ensuring you have ample fuel for the 3-4 hours’ drive via Sankuyo/Mababe to Khwai Campground. Set within the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai Campground is a prime area for game viewing, offering encounters with a variety of wildlife, from hippos and giraffes to lions and wild dogs.

Day 6: Explore Khwai Region of Moremi Game Reserve

Engage in a day of exploration in the Khwai region of the Moremi Game Reserve. Traverse the floodplain and woodlands, encountering an array of wildlife, including elephants, crocodiles, lechwes, buffalos, and an abundance of birdlife. Khwai Campground, with its well-spaced campsites, provides an ideal base for this wildlife-rich adventure.

Day 7: Depart to Savuti Campground

Embark on an early morning departure from Khwai Campground to Mababe Gate, approximately a one-hour drive. The subsequent journey to Savuti is dependent on the route, allowing for a 4-5 hour drive. Arrive at Savuti Campground and immerse yourself in the iconic camping site, situated at the crossroads of the Greater Okavango Delta and Chobe.

Day 8: Explore Savuti Region

Dedicate this day to exploring the wonders of the Savuti region. Encounter giraffes, elephants, tsessebes, impalas, and other wildlife that inhabit this unique landscape. Savuti Campground, with its well-spaced campsites, provides an ideal setting for your wildlife adventure.

Day 9: Depart to Linyanti Campground

Bid farewell to Savuti as you embark on a journey to Linyanti, a 3-5 hour drive through challenging sand terrain. Arrive at the Linyanti Campground, a secluded site overlooking the Linyanti River. This region, a rarely explored expanse within the Chobe National Park, offers an authentic and untouched wilderness experience.

Day 10: Explore the Linyanti Region

Savor the tranquility of the Linyanti region as you explore its diverse landscapes and encounter abundant wildlife. From lion prides and leopards to African wild dogs and various antelope species, the Linyanti region showcases the untamed beauty of Botswana’s wilderness. Delight in the bird diversity that graces this area, making it a haven for birdwatchers.

Day 11: Depart to Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge

Embark on your journey from Linyanti to Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge. The 39 km road may present challenging sand conditions, requiring 3-5 hours of travel time. Arrive at the lodge, where you’ll find nine isolated luxury camping sites with individual private campgrounds. Each site, set on a raised deck under the shade of Mopani trees, provides a unique and comfortable camping experience.

Enjoy a day of exploration around Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge. The lodge offers various activities, including sundowners, night safaris, cultural tours, game drives in Chobe National Park, boat cruises on the Chobe River, visits to Victoria Falls, and three meals a day. The lodge’s waterhole, a captivating focal point, attracts diverse wildlife, creating a unique and immersive experience.

Day 12: Morning Boat Cruise on Chobe River

Begin your day with an early morning breakfast at Chobe Mopani Lodge, followed by a boat cruise on the Chobe River. Renowned as one of the world’s best game viewing experiences by boat, the Chobe Riverfront region promises exceptional wildlife encounters. Return to Chobe Mopani Lodge, where you can spend the afternoon at leisure, perhaps reflecting on the incredible wildlife sightings.

Day 13: Departure Day

On your final day, bid farewell to the Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge and the breathtaking landscapes of Botswana. Reflect on the incredible journey you’ve had, from camping in pristine wilderness to encountering diverse wildlife. Depart from the lodge and head to Maun International Airport for your departure, marking the end of this unforgettable Botswana camping adventure.
